A benefit for the outreach activities of the Church 




Doug White

Composer, singer, tenor saxophonist featured throughout Europe and the East Coast with legendary singer, Annie Ross, (of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross fame), Doug White, founder of independent jazz record label, Juniper Records, has enjoyed international acclaim at the helm of his own trios and quartets since the early 1970's. Offering a program that ranges from bop to ballads, catchy original material as well as great standards, blues and modern-style improvising, Doug has entertained at New York City's Supper Club, Jubilee, Bubble Lounge, and Rainbow and Stars, London's Pizza On the Park and Green Room along with private engagements in London, Paris and Provence. He has performed at a number of European festivals as well, including Ireland's Guinness Jazz Festival, where he was the subject of a two-hour documentary on RTE television and has been the subject of profiles on the BBC World Service. In addition, Doug has performed with Milt Hinton; Tommy Flanagan; Joe Puma; and was mentored early in his career in New York by Warne Marsh and Miles Davis. Founder of an independent jazz record label, Juniper Records. He has received favorable reviews from international media. Doug also happens to live locally with his wife and son.

"Traveling Well"


Diane Meade, MAR is facilitating a study inspired by Rev. Dr. Kirk Byron Jones - - "Traveling Well: Our Spiritual Journey."


"Traveling Well" focuses on the quiet time we have listening to our soul and acting on those inspirations. During the 45-60 minute session, participants can share their journal entries, how they responded to the soul's revelations. 


The program dates are February 24 and March 3 and will resume after Easter, meeting monthly thereafter. 


Some of the topics for creating and continuing meaningful conversations:

     1. Be Still. 

     2. Lay Burdens Down. 

     3. Listen Deeply.

     4. Don't Run Away. 

     5. Be Honest. 

     6. Be Gentle. 

     7. Welcome New Truth.                                                  


A limited number of copies of Dr. Jones' book Soul Talk are available (or can be purchased from Amazon at the extraordinarily reasonable price of $7.99). 

Additionally, there are blank journals available for participants.
